What’s with all these open letters?
January 15th, 2010
Some of you are asking why I have recently published letters written by third parties to prime minister Gordon Brown and to Eric Daniels, chief executive of Lloyds Banking Group, on my website.
The reason is that Lloyds, HBOS and the UK government have behaved abominably and deceptively over the past few years. Hundreds, if not thousands, of people across the UK have had their lives blighted as a result of the actions of these dysfunctional banks. But instead of admitting wrongdoing Halifax Bank of Scotland and Lloyds TSB have pretended they have done nothing wrong and are still vainly striving to sweep past wrongdoing under the carpet.
As part of this, Lloyds/HBOS has tried and failed to evict a couple whose businesses it crippled and whose lives it tainted through the alleged £1bn BoS Reading fraud 17 times and is hauling them back into court for an 18th hearing on Monday. This is despite the fact the FSA’s investigation into the scandal remains incomplete. In my view, this is sociopathic behaviour and it must be stopped.
The inability of bankers and their apologists in government, including Gordon Brown and Alistair Darling, to confront and address past mistakes has gone unchallenged for far too long.
- A STOP HBOS group was recently launched on Facebook (this already has nearly 500 members but could do with more, so please do join). There’s also been a flurry of Twittering
- Online petition at iPetitions [HBOS injustice against fraud victims].
