Strongbow advert: Bankers told to “sod off”

This commercial for Strongbow cider was first aired in June 2009, though somehow I only discovered it today. It is more apposite than ever following the recent showdown over bonuses and nauseating self-justification from the British Bankers Association’s head Angela Knight. It’s clear bankers are now near-universal hate figures.

The Braveheart-style ad, produced by advertising agency St Luke’s, features a rousing speech by the leader of a crowd of ordinary workers, saying they all really deserve a “hard-earned” drink. However the “socially useless” bankers among them are told to “sod off”.
