Ian Fraser is a freelance journalist, author and broadcaster whose work has been published by among others The Economist, Financial Times, The Times, The Sunday Times, the Guardian, the Observer, Independent on Sunday, Mail on Sunday, Herald, Sunday Herald, the Scotsman, Huffington Post, Literary Review, and a host of professional and business magazines.
He has been business editor of Sunday Times Scotland, financial editor of the Sunday Herald and acting editor of Director.
He has helped to produce, either as consultant , researcher or interviewee, more than ten documentaries for the BBC and Channel Five, including the Bafta-nominated RBS: Inside The Bank That Ran Out of Money, several Panoramas and File on 4 Investigates. Investigative work by Ian Fraser has been mentioned in the House of Commons on at least two occasions.
His best-selling and critically-acclaimed book, Shredded: Inside RBS The Bank That Broke Britain, was republished by Birlinn in 2024.
He is available for freelance research and writing assignments on any topic. In addition to mainstream journalism and broadcasting, Ian has years of experience in corporate writing, ghost-writing, web content creation, media training and preparing reports for lawyers ahead of court cases.
