The immensity of the known universe
January 15th, 2010
This film, produced by the American Museum of Natural History, enables you to see through time to the origins of the known universe. The awesome clip starts in the Himalayas then moves out through the Earth’s atmosphere and into the inky black of space to the afterglow of the Big Bang. Every star, planet, and quasar in this film actually exists. Watching it will make you realise how tiny and vulnerable the Earth really is. And it sure puts some of one’s petty concerns into perspective.
